BioVitrum was co-organizer of the First ADFLIM School for young scientists and students

From the 12 to 14 of December 2016 was provided the First ADFLIM School for young scientists and students on the basis of the Federal Research Centre “Fundamentals of Biotechnology” of Russian Academy of Sciences (Research Centre of Biotechnology). The event was supported by the Russian Science Foundation.

The First ADFLIM School was devoted to the possibilities of modern equipment for fluorescent imaging. Within the scientific program of the event were lectures and workshops with the participation of world renown scientists: Jonas Muecksch (Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry, Martinsried, Germany), Angelika Rueck (Faculty of confocal and multiphoton microscopy in the Ulm university, Germany), Yves Mely (Strassbourg University, France), Alexander Savitsky (Research Centre of Biotechnology of RAS, Russia), Valery Tuchin (Saratov National Research State University, Russia), Herbert Schneckenburger (Institute of Applied Research, University Aalen, Germany), Wolfgang Becker (Becker & HIckl Gmbh, Berlin, Germany), Vladislav Sheslavsky (Becker & HIckl Gmbh, Berlin, Germany). The event brought together more than 130 young scientists from different cities of Russia.

Main topics of the event:

BioVitrum together with the Federal Research Centre “Fundamentals of Biotechnology” of Russian Academy of Sciences organized this scientific school for young scientists and students.

Olga Sidorenko, the leading expert on cell technologies (BioVitrum) made a report on the 3D modeling of tissueperfusion in porous media experiment. At the scientific part of the event Olga also spoke about the techniques of specialized plastic using for experiments and microscopy.

As a part of the school was organized the exhibition of equipment and consumables distributors and manufacturers. Young scientists were able to get acquainted with modern solutions for molecular and cell biology. A booth of BioVitrum became the center of the exhibition on the ADFLIM school. Young researchers were actively interested in the company offer on cell technologies and imaging systems.

More attention of BioVitrum booth visitors had the specialized plastic for cell studies and tabletop fluorescent microscope ZOE™, which allows to avoid the difficulties of adjustment and does not require special conditions of installation and operation in a dark room. Integrated digital camera, touch-sensitive control panel and a three channel of fluorescence make cell imaging rapid, quality and very user-friendly.

For the ADFLIM participants was also organized a workshop on the equipment for fluorescence imaging, at the Research Centre of Biotechnology. The workshop was conducted by Vladislav Sheslavsky (Becker & HIckl Gmbh, Berlin, Germany).

An important part of the event was the poster session, where young scientists, graduate and undergraduate students presented their researches. BioVitrum established a special prize for the best poster report. The victory went to Rovnyagina Natalia, Moscow State University and the International Training and Laser Center of Moscow State University. The topic of her report was «The interaction of albumin and its oligomers with Thioflavin T». BioVitrum presented certificate to the winner to acquire consumables for molecular and cell researches in nominal value of 30 000 rubles.
