BioVitrum took part in the VII Plenum of the Russian Society of Pathologists and in the exhibition “XXI century: up-to-date methods of research in pathology and medicine”

The VII Plenum of the Russian Society of Pathologists took place in Volgograd on 23th and 24th of May, 2014.

At the conference were discussed questions on coronary and non-coronary myocardial necrosis, acute coronary syndrome and miocardial infarction, and was recommended a new European classification of miocardial infarction. The main scientific theme of the event was diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases, participants talked over live issues of pathologic service organization.

Victor Bovin, Product Manager of histology and cytology department BioVitrum Ltd, presented the report - “Telepathology, opportunities of Telehealth for effective morphological diagnosis.

The purpose of the plenum was to work out a single approach to diagnosis and treatment of diseases, leading to mortality and disability of Russian population. It will let to reduce the cost of treatment, to improve the quality of life and increase human longevity.

Within the framework of the plemun there was held the specialized exhibition “XXI century: up-to-date methods of research in pathology and medicine”. The system of imaging for telepathology was demonstrated on the booth of BioVitrum, which let to see images of histologic specimens (i.e. slides). Slides were specially prepared for this scientific event. The equipment aroused big interest of the participants. Also there were shown novelty of consumable materials, sets of staining with hematoxylin--basic fuchsin-picric acid (HBFP) for detection of myocardial lesions of different etiology, Histomix –“New formula”, hematoxylin Pero and Cryo spray.

The plenum gathered more than 120 pathologists; who could share their experience and discuss important aspects in cardiovascular disease.
