BioVitrum helps organize the conference "Diagnostics that save lives: The concept of full laboratory automation"

On November 23 a special guest presented a report - the Chairman of the National Association of Quality Management for Histotechnics USA, William DeSalvo. William DeSalvo is a specialist in international management for pathology departments of Lean Six Sigma systems.  He has extensive experience in designing and implementing a continuous improvement of the effectiveness of pathology departments. Mr. DeSalvo lectured about effective and affordable means to improve t he performance of pathomorphology labs, including how to reduce errors and improve the quality of preparations.  He conducted a comparative analysis of the effectiveness of using equipment with various types of material loading.

On the second day of the conference Nikita Savelov gave presentations on automation and immunohistochemistry and Ashota Avdalyana presented on automated evaluation expression of Ki- 67 in routine work.
As part of the conference the second annual meeting of Xpress users (Sakura) was organized. It is a good tradition of BioVitrum which connects Xpress users to department heads in order to exchange experience, achievements, and discuss possible problems and solutions together.  The following presented their experience of using a fully automated laboratory:

- Anna Semenova - Head of pathology department at Chelyabinsk City Oncology Center ( Chelyabinsk);
- Lyudmila Dryaev - Head of pathology department at Regional Clinical Hospital № 2  (Kransodar);
- Sergey Todorov - Head of pathology department at Rostov Research Institute of Oncology (Rostov-on-Don).

The event was attended by our partners from Sakura and Roche. In a solemn awards ceremony representatives of Sakura presented BioVitrum's General Director Vladimir Tsimberg the award for "Best Performing Distributor 2013" for Sakura Europe.
